Rockarchive Amsterdam
Rockarchive is a photogallery with a growing collection of classic images of rock and jazz, taken by the world's leading music photographers. The Rockarchive collection contains the work of more than 50 renowned photographers from around the globe who contributed their finest images to the collection. Rockarchive Amsterdam is proud to represent French legend Jean-Pierre Leloir. More than 50 years of music photography took him from Paris jazz-clubs in the fifties to rock legends like Hendrix, Zappa and Led Zeppelin in the sixties, seventies and eighties.
The Amsterdam gallery is located on the Prinsengracht, in the Jordaan, the cultural heart of Amsterdam. (see map below) |

Gijsbert Hanekroot joins Rockarchive Amsterdam
Gijsbert Hanekroot was photographer for magazines like Oor and Nieuwe Revu between 1969 and 1983. He is an autodidact. In the early days of his career he made concert pictures of the Outsiders, with which his career as a rock photographer began. He was the first in the Netherlands to make it his profession. He was chief photographer for Oor from 1970 until 1975 where for a short while Anton Corbijn was his assistant, before he succeeded Gijsbert. In 2008 Gijsbert published the book 'Abba to Zappa seventies Rock Photography'. |

The Hague Jazz 2010
Rockarchive will exhibit some of the breathtaking Jazz images of Jean-Pierre Leloir and the Rockarchive-collection during The Hague Jazz from June the 9th until June 12. The Hague Jazz celebrates its 5th anniversary in 2010. The programme will be revealed in April 2010. |

Jean Pierre Leloir decorated
In January 2010 Jean-Pierre Leloir was decorated as Officer in the Order of Fine Arts and Literature by H.E. Frederic Mitterand, minister of Culture and Communication of France. Mitterand acknowledges his contribution to French Culture. Rockarchive Amsterdam congratulates Jean-Pierre on the recognition of his incredible work. |
